3rd Team Captain

  • On field captaincy in league games

  • Responsible for ensuring their team plays at all times within ‘the spirit of the game’ and the laws of the game

  • Liaise with opposition Captains where fixtures are in doubt due to weather, selection or other issues that may cause the cancellation of a fixture

  • Work with the Play Cricket administrator to ensure all squad playing members are registered with the league by required date

  • Work with the Membership Administrator to ensure all squad playing members being considered for selection have paid their subs

  • Arrange Collection of match fees and ensure money is handed to appropriate club officer

  • Ensuring results are provided to press before 8.30pm on day of match using the appropriate channels (phone, e-mail, Social Media)

  • When playing a home fixture, ensure Playcricket match data is completed in the appropriate time frame (reference SEWCL League guide for details)

  • Writing of match day reports and completing captain’s report on play cricket

  • Attendance at Cricket Management Committee/Senior Leadership Team meetings when required (physical or virtual)

  • Attendance at weekly selection meetings in playing season (physical or virtual)

  • Must complete DBS vetting paperwork as directed my club welfare office which must be refreshed every 3 years

  • Along with the Fixture Secretary, liaise with Wick CC to ensure ground preparation and pavilion access is arranged for each home fixture

  • Organise setting up of ground on arrival for home matches, ensuring all items required for play are ready, returning all equipment to its rightful place at the end of the game

  • Ensure drinks are prepared ahead of start of play for each innings and readily available when required (taken to field of play, not left in pavilion)

  • Ensure pavilion is left as found including cleaning any utensils/kitchen equipment used, breaking down tables and chairs used for tea area, sweeping floor of communal and changing room areas and removal of rubbish bags from site (to be placed in Vale CC bin on return to Corntown).
